题 目: Engineering Quantum Anomalous Hall Phase in graphene systems

摘 要: In this talk, I will briefly introduce our recent work on realizing quantum anomalous Hall effect in graphene systems. We show that in monolayer graphene, Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC) together with Zeeman field can open a nontrivial bulk gap to host a quantum anomalous-Hall effect. We further show that this can be realized via doping magnetic metal atoms on graphene. Since adatoms are easy to nucleate into clusters, we propose on how to observe such a nontrivial phase by simply placing graphene on top of a magnetic insulator.
